“Duo visits me in my dreams”: Users report nocturnal appearances of the green owl after three days without practicing

Polyglot Cave.- What initially seemed like a friendly reminder to learn languages has quickly escalated into a multilingual nightmare. At least, that's what users around the world have reported, claiming to have dreamlike apparitions of the Duolingo owl (Duo, for short).
“I dreamed I was in bed and Duo floated through the window, speaking to me in perfect German, but because I interrupted my lessons, I couldn't understand him,” revealed one user with their phone notifications silenced.
The situation has become so dire that everyone seems to agree: the app is sending reminders in every way possible to get users to return to their online classes.
Emails, bubble notifications, never-quiet alerts, and now even dreams! These are the ways Duo makes itself felt to get users to open the app.

" Did you forget your streak? We didn't," reads one of these cynical messages that has everyone on edge.
This has bothered many language dropouts, who, seeing that they weren't learning anything anyway, opted to continue listening to foreign songs as an alternative method to master a language. But they didn't count on the persistence of the polyglot owl.
In response to recurring complaints, Duolingo announced the launch of a new subscription called "Duo Dreams," which will prevent the owl from threateningly appearing in your dreams. And for an additional fee, you can also block the sending of those "gentle reminders" that smack more of emotional blackmail.
